On Wednesday, February 1st, Bolton Central School Youth & Government participants attended a regional conference at the Silver Bay YMCA Conference Center. The conference was made up of students from our immediate region and included in District 3. This regional conference is in preparation for the state conference occurring March.
YMCA Youth & Government is a national program that involves thousands of teens nationwide in state-organized, model-government programs. Students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in experiential civic engagement and literally practice democracy. Students are offered the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their beliefs while engaging constructively with their peers from around the State. The program culminates with teens serving as delegates at their state conference, debating bills they and their peers have written.
