Recently our Pre- Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students had a great time celebrating the 100th day of school. Lessons included facts about the calendar and lots of ways to make math fun and enjoyable. There was a lot of counting to 100, finding 100 things and also understanding that 100 is a place holder in math.
1st grade students made a tower of ten cups on each of their desks. Then they took turns creating a cup tower by adding their ten cups to make a 100-cup tower.
Students also tried to imagine what they might look like when they are 100 years old by using a program that allows the user to add different features to their photo.
